area safety scanner

Safety scanners are used to protect areas around equipment and robotic cells where personnel can enter an unsafe zone.

Area scanners are used in replacement of traditional fencing or for areas that require a higher level of safety.

Because the scanner is always looking for a person or object to enter the unsafe zone they create a safer environment than fencing.

how they work

Below is an example of a safety scanner application.  The scanner has 275 degrees of view allowing it to look for objects and people.  In scanner applications we want to make sure we protect operators and equipment, but also keep the scanner from tripping accidentally (for example, a forklift driving by too close).  With the scanner software we can map out zones and work around existing infrastructure.
